Julia, Research Scientist

The research team at Genea has a unique mix of experience and skills that brings us to the forefront of stem cell research in the world. As a scientist, I feel that embryonic stem cells are one of the most fascinating cells to work with and thanks to our cutting edge techniques, we have received government licences and grants that allow us to attempt world first stem cell research.
Our work is not only advancing scientific knowledge, but a lot of what we do has immediate benefit for IVF and our patients. It is incredibly rewarding to witness how our work is helping people directly!

 I have worked in reproductive health for 28 years and in recent years I have been managing the biochemistry lab. One of the great things about working at Genea is that it allows me to expand my research concepts into workable daily practice. I believe that no other company offers a complete patient service in one holistic environment, catering for all diagnostic needs from infertility hormone testing to prenatal assessment. This allows me to offer patients a quality of service that I believe no other company can match.
Professionally, Genea offers the ability to be ones’ best as we are encouraged to challenge ideas and seek new and better way of doing things whilst working along side highly-skilled colleagues who strive for the highest standard in everything they do.

Lyn, Nurse Coordinator

I joined Genea to utilise my nursing skills as well as developing my interest in women’s health. Having a balanced lifestyle is important to me and this is a nursing role where I work regular hours. No shift work! I am now part of a great professional team of people and I am involved in the care of couples from the beginning of their IVF journey right through to the end, which I find very rewarding.

Genea has provided me with an opportunity to develop my career from a clinical “hands on” role into an area that has always intrigued me – Human Resources. I am in the unique position where I can marry my interests in health, learning and development, and forging technologies with the people side of the Company. Genea has supported me with further education and provided me with an environment where I could develop my skills and my career. Just as my career has developed, so has my family. Genea provides me with the flexibility to balance my family commitments whilst being part of an amazing team of people who are passionate about who we are

I was initially attracted to the role at Genea as I was looking for a position where I could utilise my varied skills all in the one workplace. Genea offered me the chance, after 25 years of nursing, to venture into a new avenue in my career. I am now working in a field that I am passionate about and working in a diverse office support role that sees me undertaking duties such as blood collecting, assisting in theatre, invoicing, financial consults and front desk duties all in the one day!
I work with a wonderful team in Canberra and I appreciate the supportive environment that we have here. I really enjoy being part of a company that focuses on its values and strives to provide a positive and life changing service to its clients every day.
