Expanding treatment options on the mid north coast
Initially established in 1995, Genea Port Macquarie operates as a monitoring centre for patients attending Genea Newcastle. All aspects of treatment workup including education, ultrasound, diagnostic surgery, semen analysis and endocrine studies can be attended here in Port Macquarie. A full IVF cycle involves two trips to Newcastle – one for egg collection and one for embryo transfer; everything else is attended locally.
Our clinic is situated at 57 Lake Road in the rooms of Dr Ray Hodgson. Our local fertility specialists, Dr Ray Hodgson and Dr Penny Black provide expert care in liaison with the Newcastle specialists.
All local general practitioners and specialists can direct infertile patients to the clinic for guidance and assistance in their efforts to achieve a healthy baby.
Clinic coordinator Louise Harper, Registered Nurse, provides expertise in education and coordinates all treatment cycles. She is available as required, providing ongoing support and guidance to couples during treatment. Please contact clinic for current opening hours.
Port Macquarie Ultrasound provides specialised ultrasound services, conveniently located in the same rooms. Expert fertility counselling is available as required by couples seeking our help.
