At Genea, we have a counselling service that is available to all patients of the clinic before, during or between treatments. It is also available when all treatment has finished. All of the counsellors are experienced therapists whose initial academic training was either in social work or clinical psychology.
For some people counselling provides much needed support and intervention during periods of high stress. For some it's a place where thoughts and feelings about infertility can be explored and discussed privately. Others find that counselling helps them to develop coping strategies of their own. Couples sometimes use the service together and sometimes one of the partners uses the service on their own. The service is completely confidential. Off-site counselling is also an option.
There is usually no charge for the counselling service provided to Genea patients during their assisted conception treatment. There is a charge for counselling that precedes egg donation, sperm donation, or surrogacy. Our counselling services are also available to non-patients on a fee paying basis.
If you are not sure whether counselling is appropriate for you, please contact Genea and talk to a counsellor. Feel free to ask any questions and then see what you think - there is no obligation to make an appointment.
