My Situation

Recognising your situation

The desire to have a child is real. It comes from the heart and from the head and some days it invades your every thought while others it simmers in the background, never completely gone but not all consuming.

Whether you’re just starting out or you've been trying for a while, it’s important to remember the emotions, worries and thoughts you are trying to deal with are valid and very common. Feeling down about not being able to have a baby, particularly when the struggle has gone on a while, is entirely normal. And while you may feel like it - you are not alone.

What you will find over the following pages is not necessarily one single answer or solution but instead understanding and empathy that comes from over 30 years of experience in helping people just like you. We know there are rational medical and non-medical steps to help you overcome infertility factors but making sense of how you feel about it is equally important. As author and researcher Brene Brown said: “The truth is, rarely can a response make something better - what makes something better is connection”.
