Our care

Undergoing fertility treatment can be a difficult time so you want to know that you have access to a team of professionals who will go above and beyond to support you, recognising cultural beliefs, different family structures and offering comprehensive emotional support programs.
Genea patient Alyce discusses the care she received during her fertility treatment.
Often overlooked when considering a fertility clinic, care is a vital part of your treatment and contributes greatly to your emotional wellbeing.

It is also the part that patients talk about long after their journey is complete and recognise that they did not fully understand the importance of care when first commencing their journey.

Having one doctor throughout treatment provides a solid base for you to rely on as you make important decisions at each stage of your fertility journey.

At Genea, every patient’s journey starts and ends with a dedicated Fertility Specialist. Your doctor investigates, diagnoses, plans and conducts your procedures every step of the way*

Genea believes it is important for you to choose your own doctor and offers over 55 doctors across a range of locations and specialties
Just like having your own doctor, having access to a team who is familiar with your journey provides great comfort as you move through treatment. Our unique care model means you have a dedicated fertility care team comprising of your Fertility Specialist, nurses, scientists and counsellors, all tailoring your treatment for you and communicating with one another directly to ensure you receive a comprehensive, supportive and personalised experience.
Infertility and its treatment is likely to result in a rollercoaster of emotions from anticipation and joy to disappointment and even grief. To help you look after your emotional wellbeing, Genea patients undergoing treatment are offered a counselling service at no cost, through our specially trained fertility counsellors. We encourage patients to see this service as an essential part of our care for you.

Our counsellors offer a highly supportive environment while going through treatment. For example, they run a 5-week Mind Your Own Body program at our Kent Street clinic bringing women together in a supportive environment with patients at the same stage of the fertility journey, helping to better manage stress, anxiety and depression that can often accompany infertility and its treatment.

What our patients say...

Genea’s patient satisfaction rating is consistently high. Our results reflect the focus we place on personal interactions to deliver a more personalised experience. For example, at Genea, scientists directly discuss the quality and development of embryos in our lab throughout the six days.

It’s our unique combination of science, success and care that means 8 out of 10 patients who started treatment elsewhere wish they came to us first.**

* There may be some extraordinary circumstances where your Specialist will need to engage another doctor.
** Of those patients who responded to the Genea patient survey conducted between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2017 (223 patients).
