Canberra Senior Scientist

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Embryologist to join us in Canberra on a permanent full-time basis.

The role is responsible for performing all aspects of clinical embryology services and diagnostic procedures, inclusive of blastocyst biopsy. Biochemistry experience non-essential but preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manual handling of all gametes and embryos
  • Perform as needed diagnostic andrology procedures
  • Perform as needed endocrinology procedures
  • Perform blastocyst biopsy including tissue tubing
  • Participation in IQA/EQA programs as directed by your manager
  • Accurately entering embryology data into relevant database for statistical analysis and accreditation purposes
  • Discussing adverse events and near misses promptly with your manager, and reporting them through the Genea electronic reporting system
  • Professionally and compassionately communicate with patients
  • Participate in Genea IVF Satellite/Worldwide programs

About You

Ideal candidate will have:

  • 4 years + experience working as an embryologist
  • Fully trained in all processes and procedures involved with an IVF laboratory and ideally diagnostic andrology skills
  • Degree in Biological Sciences
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
