Genea Medical Director Associate Professor Mark Bowman has been elected as the new president of the Fertility Society of Australia (FSA).
The FSA is the peak body representing scientists, doctors, researchers, nurses, consumers and counsellors in reproductive medicine in Australia and New Zealand and provides clinical guidance and direction to improve the standard of reproductive medical practice.
“After 20 years of active involvement with the FSA, this appointment is very exciting and humbling, but also presents great challenges and opportunities. Australasia is at the forefront of reproductive medicine and we can be proud of not only our medical and scientific advances, but also in our standards of quality and ethical care for our patients," Assoc. Prof Bowman said.
“During my term as President, I hope to further broaden the reach of the FSA and to continue to improve outcomes for patients in assisted conception and related treatments. I am also very passionate about patient advocacy and, with the FSA Board, will continue to support the rights of patients with regard to both access to care and for continued appropriate Medicare reimbursement.”
