Biography

Dr Felicity Brims sees her role as a mentor, guiding her patients through the highs and lows of their journey to get pregnant. She understands that every couple has different hopes and expectations and that every situation requires a unique approach. That’s why from the initial consultation, she strives to ensure patients are comfortable and understand the details of their treatment.

Taking a collaborative approach, Felicity offers patients a range of clearly explained options, empowering them to take informed control of their own fertility path. Felicity also provides support and care through the first trimester of pregnancy.

Experience & Qualifications

After graduating from Medicine at the University of Queensland in 1999, Felicity completed her Postgraduate training at a number of different hospitals including Logan Hospital and Townsville Hospital in Queensland as well as St George Hospital in Sydney. In 2007, she was awarded a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from James Cook University. This study culminated in an eventful year working with Médecins sans Frontières in Sierra Leone (in West Africa) and in Pakistan where she was exposed to many challenging and life-changing experiences.

Felicity holds a Master of Reproductive Medicine at the University of NSW, she lectures medical students at the Australian National University and is a Staff Specialist and Training Supervisor at Canberra Hospital where she is involved in high-risk obstetrics, general gynaecology and management of women with abnormal pap smears. 

Additional Information

With such a wide background in many facets of reproductive medicine, Felicity gleaned the valuable insights required to develop a well-rounded empathy for patients from all walks of life and circumstances. This is what has helped shape her career. She is passionate about using her skills to help women with a range of fertility issues and has a particular interest in conditions including Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, ovarian failure and recurrent miscarriage.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Felicity is also a Mum, treasuring every opportunity to spend quality time with her husband and two young children.
