Dr Rose McDonnell is a highly qualified obstetrician and gynaecologist with advanced expertise in laparoscopic pelvic surgery, fertility medicine, and endometriosis.


At Genea’s Perth clinic, she provides holistic care, supporting patients from diagnosis through to treatment with a tailored approach that considers individual needs and lifestyles. 

 

Rose is passionate about diagnosing, treating, and aiding in the prevention of disorders of the female reproductive system. As an advanced laparoscopic surgeon, she offers specialised care for conditions like endometriosis, helping patients achieve optimal health and fertility outcomes. Her aim is to empower women by providing clear guidance and personalised treatment plans.

 

Her journey into medicine began with a strong foundation in science. Initially pursuing a career as a medical scientist, majoring in haematology, microbiology, and biochemistry. However, her desire to connect directly with patients led her to study medicine and specialise in obstetrics, gynaecology, and reproductive health.

 

Dr McDonnell holds a Master’s in Reproductive Medicine and has completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at King Edward Memorial Hospital. Additionally, she undertook a Fellowship in Advanced Pelvic Surgery through the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society at King Edward Memorial Hospital, refining her skills in minimally invasive surgical techniques.

 

Dedicated to advancing her field, Rose has presented her research at local and international conferences and has contributed to various medical journals. She takes pride in her ongoing career development, ensuring her patients benefit from the latest evidence-based practices.
