- Intrauterine Insemination (IUI): Sperm is placed directly into the uterus to increase the chances of fertilisation.
- In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF): Involves fertilising eggs with sperm in a laboratory and transferring the resulting embryos to the uterus.
- Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI): A single sperm is injected directly into an egg to assist with fertilisation, often used in cases of male infertility.

Preserving fertility

- Sperm Freezing: Freezes sperm for future use, providing a fertility preservation option for men.
Monitoring
- On-Cycle Monitoring: Includes blood tests and ultrasounds during your cycle, with no appointment required, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
Counselling: We provide expert support to help you navigate the emotional aspects of fertility treatment, ensuring your well-being throughout the process.
Donors
Genea supports donor-assisted conception for patients who need donor eggs or donor sperm to build their family. Our donor program operates within the guidelines set by state and national regulatory bodies, and we provide comprehensive legal, clinical, and emotional support throughout the process.
- Becoming a donor: if you are interested in donating eggs or sperm to help others on their fertility journey, our team can guide you through the eligibility assessment and process. There is no fee to donate through Genea.
- Using donor gametes: we help patients identify whether donor conception is the right path, connect with a suitable donor (known or clinic-recruited, subject to availability), and navigate the legal and counselling requirements at every stage.
FAQs
Counselling and emotional support
Fertility treatment is emotionally significant, and Genea provides professional counselling support as a standard part of care, not an add-on. Our counsellors are trained in fertility-specific psychological support and can help you navigate the uncertainty, grief, and decision-making that often accompanies treatment.
Counselling is available for individuals, couples, and people using donor or surrogacy pathways. Sessions are available in-person at Sydney clinics or via telehealth.
Costs and payment options
The cost of fertility treatment in Sydney varies depending on the type of treatment, the number of cycles needed, and your individual Medicare and health fund entitlements. Genea provides a detailed, itemised cost estimate at your first consultation so there are no surprises.
Most IVF cycles attract partial Medicare rebates. Your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your age, diagnosis, and whether you hold private health insurance. Our fertility concierges can walk you through a personalised cost estimate before you commit to treatment.
Genea offers payment plan options to help spread costs. Visit our fees and payment page or call our Sydney team for a current schedule.
