Biography
As the father of six children, Dr Matthew Holland has a calm and reassuring approach which he brings to all aspects of his work with fertility, obstetrics and gynaecology. Matthew believes providing a continuity of care for his patients is essential, from the early stages of fertility treatment through to obstetric care during pregnancy.
After completing an Honours Degree in Physiotherapy at Sydney University, Matthew returned home to Newcastle to undertake medical training. He gained an Honours degree in Medicine and then began specialist Gynaecology and Obstetrics training at the John Hunter Hospital. During this training he also gained IVF experience at Genea Newcastle.
Dr Holland plays an active role in the education and mentoring of specialist trainees and medical students. He currently holds a position of conjoint lecturer at Newcastle University.
Based in New Lambton Heights, Dr Holland welcomes patients and couples from Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and surrounding areas. Couples requiring fertility treatment will undergo their procedures locally at The Lingard Hospital at Merewether.
As well as working with Genea Newcastle, Dr Holland has private rooms at Newcastle Private Hospital where he also sees obstetric and general gynaecology patients.
