No. Every donor goes through the same health and screening process, and we welcome donors from every community.

Why do some people think gay men can't donate?

Blood donation rules have historically restricted men who have sex with men, so many people assume the same applies to sperm donation. It doesn't. Some overseas sperm banks have restrictive policies, but that isn't the case here.

How do we keep donation safe?

Safety comes from thorough screening, not from who you are. Every donor is screened for infectious diseases with blood tests at the time of donation and again three months later. Donor sperm is quarantined during this period and only released once both sets of results are clear.

Can I remain anonymous?

In Australia, donor-conceived people can access identifying information about their donor, usually from age 16 or 18 depending on the state. Our donor team will explain exactly what this means for you before you commit to anything.

You won't be paid for donating, but reasonable expenses such as travel are reimbursed.
