05 June 2025: Genea Fertility & VIC Pride Centre partner supporting LGBTQ+ family-building journeys

OverviewSpecialist overview
Genea Fertility has marked Pride Month with the announcement of a new partnership with the Victorian Pride Centre, a collaboration that brings together two organisations united by a genuine commitment to inclusive, affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals and families.

The Victorian Pride Centre, located in St Kilda, is Australia's first purpose-built hub for LGBTIQA+ communities. It serves as a home for LGBTQIA+ organisations and a gathering place for communities across cultures and generations. Through this partnership, Genea and the Victorian Pride Centre will work together to provide trusted fertility information, expert-led events, and inclusive resources for those navigating reproductive health and family-building.

For LGBTQIA+ people, approaching a fertility clinic carries extra layers of concern that heterosexual couples rarely face. Questions about whether a clinic will truly understand their needs, treat them without assumption, and support their family structure without judgment are entirely reasonable. Genea fertility specialist Dr Chandrika Parmar, based at the East Melbourne clinic, is clear that at Genea the answer to those concerns is unequivocal: no assumptions, no pressure, and no one-size-fits-all approach. With 21 locations across Australia and more than 38 years of experience in IVF and fertility science, Genea has built its reputation not only on clinical excellence but on care that reflects the full diversity of modern families.

Genea Director of Operations for VIC, ACT, SA and WA, describes the partnership as a privilege, noting that love builds a family and that Genea is simply there to bring world-leading science along for the journey.
Victorian Pride Centre CEO Paul Horwell welcomes Genea as a trusted ally, emphasising that building a family should be a supported and celebrated experience for everyone regardless of who they are or who they love.

The partnership launches during Pride Month, with the Victorian Pride Centre also hosting its Queer Multicultural Carnival as part of the broader Pride Month program.
