Biography
Dr Anna Dalton is a fertility specialist and specialist obstetrician-gynaecologist consulting at Genea Canberra. She supports individuals and couples across Canberra and the ACT who are trying to conceive, considering IVF, exploring egg freezing, or seeking answers after recurrent miscarriage, unexplained infertility or male factor infertility.
Anna is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and is in the final stages of completing subspecialty training in IVF and Reproductive Endocrinology through the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). She has a strong interest in helping patients understand their fertility, their treatment options and the steps that may improve their chance of pregnancy.
Anna completed her medical training at the Australian National University in 2012 before relocating to Adelaide in 2013. She has worked across major metropolitan hospitals in Adelaide and Darwin and commenced specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2016. Her broad hospital and fertility experience allows her to care for patients with both straightforward and more complex fertility needs.
Gynaecology and reproductive medicine are Anna’s key areas of passion. She has a particular interest in fertility assessment, planned oocyte cryopreservation, commonly known as egg freezing, recurrent miscarriage, ovulation problems and underlying gynaecological conditions that may affect fertility. She also has a strong interest in male factor infertility, including low sperm count, and helping couples determine the most appropriate pathway for investigation and treatment.
At Genea Canberra, Anna manages all aspects of fertility care, including fertility testing, ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, IVF, embryo transfers and fertility preservation. She also performs clinical procedures including oocyte retrievals, embryo transfers, IUIs and surgical sperm retrieval.
Patients choose Anna for her warm, clear and evidence-based approach. She takes time to explain results, answer questions and guide patients through each stage of care, whether they are beginning fertility investigations, considering egg freezing, preparing for IVF or seeking a second opinion about their fertility treatment options.
