Biography
Dr Sally Reid is a Gynaecologist, with additional training in reproductive medicine and early pregnancy care. Her passion for the field began as a medical student, when a team of midwives in Whyalla encouraged her to deliver babies with them. Sally’s practice has grown from delivering babies, to helping to create them and she feels privileged to be involved in such an incredible part of life.
Sally understands that having the family you desire can be more complicated and stressful than expected. She strives to fully understand what factors are standing in the way of fertility, with her aim being to only use advanced treatments, like IVF, when necessary.
Dr Reid has specialist qualifications in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and was awarded a High Distinction for her Master of Reproductive Medicine through the University of NSW She heads the Reproductive Endocrinology service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, enjoys teaching and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide.
Sally’s special interests include;
- Investigation and management of Subfertility and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss.
- Endometriosis and Chronic Pelvic Pain
- Including minimally invasive surgeries.
- Fertility Preservation for people diagnosed with cancer or other medical conditions that may cause subfertility, including severe Endometriosis and low egg count.
- Hormonal conditions e.g. Menopause, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
