You will need to obtain a referral from your GP in order to book a consultation with one of our specialists. The referral should be addressed to Genea Fertility and/or your fertility specialist, and should include both your and your partner's names, if applicable.

Your GP will need to provide a referral to Genea Fertility or to your fertility specialist. This copy should be forwarded to your clinic before your first consultation, or please bring it with you. Also bring the results of any previous fertility tests, plus any notes you have on your menstrual cycle and medical or pregnancy history.

During the initial consultation at our fertility clinic in Gosford, your specialist will gather all relevant information, including your circumstances, medical conditions, previous fertility test results, menstruation patterns, timing of intercourse and any history of pregnancy. Your specialist may recommend further tests and will discuss potential treatment options and next steps. We encourage partners to attend this appointment.

Your chances of IVF success are higher than the national average when you work with our team at Genea. We can look at births per complete egg retrieval cycle (including the later transfer of resulting embryos) to give you an indication of your overall chance of a live birth from any given egg retrieval cycle at any point in your journey. In November 2023, the average percentage for this figure, across all Genea clinics, was 56.6% for those under 35 years (compared to a national average of 47.9%). Genea Gosford provides pre-treatment education, ultrasound, diagnostic surgery, semen analysis and endocrine studies, along with treatment monitoring and ongoing support. During one full IVF cycle, this leaves just two trips to Newcastle for egg collection and embryo transfer.

Genea provides access to Medicare rebates where applicable, and private health coverage and payment options are also available. We partner with Humm and Zip Money to provide payment plans, and can also help approved applicants access superannuation through Access My Super and SuperCare.
