Pre-IVF testing $500 rebate
If you’re taking the first step to understand why you’re not conceiving, Genea is here to help with a comprehensive fertility diagnosis.
The NSW state government is currently providing a $500 one-off rebate to NSW residents for some common out-of-pocket expenses related to pre-IVF fertility testing. So if you’re considering getting started, here’s some more information.
What is covered by the Pre-IVF Fertility Testing rebate?
AMH test
AMH is secreted by cells in the follicles of an ovary and is used to indicate ovarian reserve – reflecting egg quantity. Though the AMH test does not give any indication of the quality of eggs, it will aid in personalising your fertility treatment. It’s a simple blood test taken at any time in your cycle.
Semen analysis
This test will look at the number (concentration) and movement (motility) as well as shape (morphology) of the sperm.
Pelvic ultrasound
Your Fertility Specialist uses a pelvic ultrasound to check the health of the lining of your uterus (called the endometrium) as well as check for fibroids, polyps or ovarian cysts and conditions such as endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
Ovulation test
Another simple blood test to monitor hormones that indicate ovulation has occurred.
How to access the Pre-IVF Rebate
You can access this Pre-IVF Rebate by requesting your GP order the above tests with Genea or by requesting a referral to the Genea Fertility Specialists.
