14 November 2024: Fertility 'clinic of the year' award | The Leader

OverviewSpecialist overview
Fertility First, part of the Genea network and based in Hurstville, has been named 'Clinic of the Year' at the 2024 Australian Surrogacy and Donor Awards, recognising the clinic's outstanding contribution to fertility care and donor services in Australia.

Operating since 1997, Fertility First has established itself as a leader in the fertility sector, maintaining one of Australia's largest and most diverse banks of donor sperm and eggs. The clinic is led by Dr Anne Clark, who was the first female doctor in Australia to earn the CREI subspecialist qualification in reproductive medicine and fertility. She has recently been joined by co-medical director and CREI accredited Dr Ying Li.

A key factor distinguishing Fertility First is its commitment to immediate, accessible care. The clinic provides fertility treatments with no waitlists, addressing a critical need in the industry and reducing the stress and time pressure often experienced by patients seeking donor services. At any given time, Fertility First maintains a pool of 30 to 40 culturally diverse, identity-disclosed donors, ensuring patients from various backgrounds can find suitable matches.

Anne has been instrumental in shaping not only Fertility First's services but also the broader fertility landscape in Australia through her involvement with ACCESS, the Fertility Society of Australia, and the NHMRC Embryo Research Licensing Committee. Under her guidance, the clinic has pioneered innovative approaches to fertility care while maintaining a patient-centred philosophy.

Fertility First offers cost-effective, tailored treatment options ranging from intrauterine insemination to IVF, based on individual medical circumstances. The clinic's thorough screening process and comprehensive support address both the medical and emotional aspects of fertility challenges.

This prestigious award reflects Fertility First's two-decade commitment to accessible, inclusive, and compassionate fertility care. The recognition celebrates the dedication of Anne, Ying, and their entire team in helping individuals and couples of all backgrounds achieve their dreams of building families.
